Mediation, when done well, offers the best opportunity to resolve disputes effectively and affordably.  Why?

CONTROL

The parties get to actively participate in a mediation and control its outcome.  In contrast, the parties are largely passive in the trial process. 

TRUST

When the parties to a mediation know that their interests are understood and being protected by a skilled mediator, they trust that the mediator's assessment of the opposing party's position is accurately being communicated to them thus increasing the likelihood of settlement.

 AFFORDABILITY

Trials are inefficient. From the time it takes for a case to be reached to the countless hours of trial preparation, there are a lot of wasted hours – hours clients don’t want to pay for. Mediation gets to the heart of the matter quickly. 

EFFECTIVENESS

Mediation works. It’s that simple. In fact, about 80% of mediations result in a full resolution of the dispute. And even when full resolution is not reached, many elements of the dispute will likely have been resolved which increases the possibility of settlement later.
